LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Hundreds of gallons of whiskey spilled early Monday morning at the Heaven Hill facility in Louisville.

In a news release, Heaven Hill said there was a power outage about 9:45 a.m. at its Bernheim Facility on West Breckinridge Street which caused alarms to go off at the building.

The Louisville Fire Department responded to check the source of the outage. Captain Donovan Sims told WDRB that the area was evacuated, but there were no injuries reported. A level one hazmat situation was declared.

Conor O'Driscoll, the director of Kentucky Distillation for Heaven Hill, said in a statement that "a few hundred gallons of whiskey have been spilled and is currently being monitored by MSD."

O'Driscoll said surrounding neighbors should not be concerned and "the situation is under control."
