LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A practice run of the new weapons detection system at Pleasure Ridge Park High School on Tuesday ended up finding a real gun.
In a letter to families yesterday, Principal Sheri Duff at PRP said the gun was found in a student's backpack during a practice run with the new Evolv system.
The principal said in the letter the gun was not used in a threatening manner, and the student is being disciplined under JCPS policy.
A number of JCPS schools are already using the Evolv weapons detection system, and they'll eventually be in all of the district's middle and high schools.
