LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A 90-year-old civil rights icon held a prayer vigil on Saturday to make a difference in Louisville.

Mattie Jones joined retired Louisville police officer Ray Barker, also known as Sir Friendly C, for a Peace Prayer Vigil with other community members, LMPD and religious leaders. It was the second vigil after the shooting at H2O lounge, where one person was killed and seven people were injured.

People prayed for peace throughout the city.

"We're praying for the city, we're praying for coming against all the murders coming in our city, all the violence, all of the drug use, everything that's wrong, everything that goes against God's will," Dr. Ruth Wilson said.

Rev. Charles Elliott Jr., 89, who worked and walked with Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. also attended the event.

Jefferson County has had more than 90 homicides so far this year.
