President and CEO of Goodwill Kentucky announces retirement after more than a decade

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Goodwill Kentucky's president and CEO plans to retire this year after more than a decade of leading one of the state's biggest nonprofits.

Since 2014, Amy Luttrell has led the organization through "a period of unprecedented growth and transformation."

The nonprofit said Luttrell's retirement "marks the culmination of a career dedicated to expanding opportunity for Kentuckians through workforce development, education, and employment."

The nonprofit's board of directors said it launched a national search for its next president and CEO. Luttrell will remain in her position until her successor is named. The board anticipates that will happen by the end of the year.

In a statement Tuesday Luttrell said the time seemed right for her to retire, calling her time serving Goodwill Kentucky "the privilege of my life."

"For more than four decades, I have witnessed the power of work to restore dignity, build confidence and change lives," Luttrell said. "I am grateful to the thousands of employees, board members, donors, partners, and volunteers who have shared this journey with me. Together, we have built an organization that is stronger than ever and well positioned to serve Kentuckians for generations to come."

Under her leadership, Goodwill Kentucky said it expanded its statewide retail network that now includes 70 stores.

Goodwill Kentucky operates in 103 of Kentucky's 120 counties, placing more than 3,000 Kentuckians into jobs each year through its 1,400-plus employer partners and its own stores.
