RADCLIFF, Ky. (WDRB) — After months away, Radcliff Head Start is ready to welcome preschoolers back to school.
The facility held its grand reopening Thursday night after severe winter weather caused extensive damage to the building in January.
Water damage forced students and staff to move to Radcliff Elementary School for the rest of the school year.
Bryan Conover with the Central Kentucky Community Action Council said the reopening comes at an important time for families.
"To be able to serve these children, get these families stable and back to the workforce, get everyone back to normal right before school starts," Conover said.
Radcliff Head Start is one of only two Head Start programs in the area, serving children ages 3 to 5 and supporting families in Hardin County and neighboring counties.
Students are expected to return to the facility as the new school year begins.
