Mudslide across Highway 150 in Washington County, Kentucky, via sheriff's office 6-17-25

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Residents in Washington County, Kentucky, are being asked to stay home as roadways become flooded, leading to at least one mudslide Tuesday evening.

Video posted by the Washington County Sheriff's Office on Facebook shows water and debris over Highway 150 as a result of a mudslide in the area of a construction zone between Bardstown and Springfield, which has since been closed temporarily.

The sheriff's office said the county had seen over four inches of rainfall in less than three hours. It's under a flash flood warning issued through midnight.

Emergency responders, which the sheriff's office said are "all over" the county, are also reporting trees across roads.

A separate post by the sheriff's office on Facebook called the flooding "very serious," telling residents to avoid attempting to drive through water.

A video posted after 9 p.m. showed rushing water in Cartwright Creek, off the "Kissing Bridge" on Grundy Home Road.

At this time, no injuries or rescues have been reported. The sheriff's office said flooded roads, downed trees blocking roadways and mudslides were the biggest issues for emergency crews as of Tuesday night.
