Gourmet burgers were enjoyed in an unforgettable meal at JR Neighbors, before heading over to the Xtreme Arcade for some high-energy fun.
Thunder Over Louisville
One of the most thrilling episodes of the year took viewers behind the scenes of Thunder Over Louisville, the largest annual air and fireworks show in North America. We flew with the Smoke On Aviation team above Louisville, giving viewers a breathtaking aerial perspective of Thunder’s air show. A road trip to Pennsylvania allowed us to visit Zambelli Fireworks, the family-owned company responsible for the pyrotechnics that light up the skies during the event. We also explored the Air Force Museum in Dayton, Ohio, where aviation history came to life.
Louisville Eats
No exploration of Louisville would be complete without indulging in its food scene. In Louisville Eats, we sampled some of Derby City’s finest flavors, from the hearty Southern fare at Big Bad Breakfast to the bustling food trucks scattered across downtown. RecBar offered a nostalgic arcade atmosphere paired with delicious food, and Muth’s Candies brought a sweet, historic touch to our culinary journey.
French Lick, Indiana
The luxurious French Lick Resort in French Lick, Indiana, was the setting for another unforgettable episode. Dalton enjoyed the full resort experience, from a rejuvenating spa treatment to a round of golf on the stunning grounds. Dining at the resort’s renowned 1875: The Steakhouse rounded out the experience in style.
Bullitt County, Kentucky
Bullitt County provided a unique blend of history and outdoor adventure. The Wine, Whiskey and Ale Trail tour led us through the region’s burgeoning craft beverage scene. We also took a spin at Kart Kountry, home to one of the longest go-kart tracks in the world, and explored Bernheim Forest’s vast, wooded trails and art installations.
Historic Louisville
In our “Historic Louisville” episode, we explored the city’s rich heritage, from the solemn beauty of Cave Hill Cemetery to the expansive Olmsted Parks system, designed by the famous landscape architect Frederick Law Olmsted. A visit to Mellwood Tavern, a local historic watering hole, rounded out our deep dive into the city’s storied past.
Jasper, Indiana
Jasper, Indiana, known for its deep German heritage, was the backdrop for our next adventure. The annual Strassenfest brought the town’s culture to life through food, music, and celebration, and we immersed ourselves in the tradition by visiting local landmarks and enjoying the lively festival atmosphere.
Red River Gorge, Kentucky
The stunning natural beauty of Red River Gorge was the star of another action-packed episode. We hiked through the gorge’s dramatic landscape, went ziplining through the trees, and kayaked along the waters in an abandoned limestone mine, all while stopping for pizza at the iconic Miguel’s Pizza, a favorite among outdoor enthusiasts.
Southern Indiana
Our "Southern Indiana" episode showcased the tri-state area of Jeffersonville, Clarksville, and New Albany. From historic riverfronts to thriving local businesses, these towns offered a unique blend of culture and charm, making it a must-see for visitors to the region.

Harrison County, Indiana, took us on a journey through nature, art, and great food. We kayaked on the Blue River, visited Zimmerman’s Art Glass to watch artisans at work, and enjoyed local attractions like Lark Ranch and Best Winery. Fat Dough Pizza, with its inventive twists on classic pies, was a highlight of our second trip to Corydon.
