LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- There are now signs of progress on the expansion of Waterfront Park into west Louisville.
Crews are working along the Ohio River near 15th Street.
Waterfront Park is expanding into the city's Portland neighborhood, a $50 million project that will add 22 acres of green space along the river.Â
The expansion will also include a new community center and a bathroom building.Â

Crews are working on a unique playground that will incorporate real construction equipment, like an excavator, dump truck and boat.
The first phase of the project is expected to be complete later this year.
