LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Many records were broken Saturday night at the KFC Yum! Center in downtown Louisville.
The center hosted UFC Fight Night, which was the highest-grossing U.S. UFC fight of all time, bringing in more than $2.5 million, according to a news release.
The event was also the highest grossing single-day sporting event at the Yum! Center with 19,578 fans in attendance.
"We are thrilled to have hosted the highest grossing single day sporting event in KFC Yum! Center history and highest grossing US UFC Fight Night of all time," said KFC Yum! Center General Manager Eric Granger. "Thank you to our local community and those who traveled from around the world to experience UFC in Louisville. We are immensely proud to have partnered with Louisville Tourism to bring this historic event to fruition and thank UFC for a incredibly successful night.”
In the main event Saturday night, UFC middleweight No. 8 Nassourdine Imavov defeated Jared Cannonier.
This was the second time the KFC Yum! Center has hosted a UFC fight.
