LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — UofL Health team member was honored Tuesday for her excellence.
The 6th annual Kelsie Small Future Healer Award was presented to Leslie Lochner, a pharmacy care advocate at UofL Health.
The award was established in honor of Kelsie Small, a nursing student who was shot and killed in 2020.
Each year, the award is given to a medical professional who exemplifies compassion.Â
UofL Health said Lochner was chosen because of her dedication to supporting patients.
"I love getting to help the patient and help navigate and try to make the journey through oncology a little bit easier where I can and making a difference for one patient makes a difference for me," Lochner said.
The award recipient is chosen by nominations and a judging committee.
