LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- On Sunday the Louisville Bats took time to pay tribute to the men and women who serve our country.
It was Military Appreciation Night at Slugger Field as the Bats took on the Columbus Clippers.
Several veterans were honored ahead of the game and several Air National Guard members were sworn in.
Former and current service members and their families got into the game for free.
Twenty-five recruits enlisted in front of the Bats' crowd.
"It is a big big night so for them to be able to, it is such an important milestone in their career to take the oath of enlistment and to do it in front of this crowd and be able to share that with this audience is very special," Commander Jason Mendez said.
The oath is something the Bats and the National Guard try to do on an annual basis.
