LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A woman died Thursday afternoon after losing control of her car on Algonquin Parkway near 7th Street Road.
Louisville Metro Police said officers responded to the report of a crash around 1:20 p.m. The initial investigation and witness statements revealed that an SUV was traveling west on Algonquin Parkway "at a high rate of speed" when the woman driving lost control and hit a tree.
Louisville Fire & Rescue and EMS crews responded, and EMS pronounced the woman dead at the scene. No other vehicles were involved.
The LMPD Traffic Unit is investigating the crash.
