A woman accused of killing her son and leaving his body in a suitcase in rural southern Indiana appeared in court in Louisville for the first time Monday.

Police said the child was found unconscious with trauma to her head and taken to Norton Children's Hospital in critical condition. 

Kennedy Forrest was charged with conspiracy to commit robbery, assisting a criminal and obstruction of justice.

Saniya Frazier was arrested Tuesday in connection with the death of the child, who overdosed on fentanyl on Aug. 19.
