LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police have arrested a woman in connection with a fatal shooting in New Albany on Christmas Eve.

Kennedy Forrest, 23, of New Albany, is charged in the case, but not with the murder itself.

The shooting happened Dec. 24, 2024, around 9:30 p.m. outside the StoneCrest Apartments on Grant Line Road in New Albany.

According to court records, Forrest was with the victim, Jalen Baker, 23, of Jeffersonville, the night he was shot and killed.

Baker was found with multiple gunshot wounds and transported to Baptist Floyd Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The probable cause affidavit said another man paid Forrest for information about the victim the same night of the shooting.

The document also states Forrest was under the impression Baker was being set up to commit a robbery.

She's charged with conspiracy to commit robbery, assisting a criminal and obstruction of justice.

A not guilty plea was entered for Forest in court Friday. She's being held in the Floyd County Jail on a $200,000 bond awaiting her next court appearance on Feb. 17.
