LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The man accused of stabbing a woman to death in Okolona pleaded not guilty in court Thursday.
Louisville Metro Police Sgt. Matt Sanders said officers responded to a stabbing in the 8000 block of Red Cedar Way near Outer Loop at 2:32 p.m. Jan. 4.
When police arrived, they found a female with multiple stab wounds. Evelyn Belton, 43, was pronounced deceased on the scene.
Jamie Belton, 50, was arrested and charged with her murder. He was found by Kentucky State Police at a rest stop in Midway, Kentucky.
Belton's cash bond was raised Thursday from $150,000 to $500,000, and his preliminary hearing was scheduled for Jan. 31.
