A former Jefferson County Public Schools teacher found guilty of sexually abusing children was sentenced on Monday.
Christopher Morris, 52, was supposed to be sentenced Wednesday to 20 years in prison. But Morris told a judge that his attorney did not provide him with details about the agreement and yelled at him when he asked questions.
House Bill 278 passed the House Judiciary Committee on Wednesday.
Joseph Adam Mattingly faces 10 felony charges.
He was arrested and taken to the Harrison County Jail.
