The park is within walking distance for 10,000 west Louisville residents.

Some prime seating for Thunder Over Louisville and the air show is currently underwater as the Ohio River has risen into Waterfront Park.
For 10,000 nearby residents, the finished park will provide about 22 aces of new green space along the Ohio River, just about a 20-minute walk away from their doorsteps.
People can vote once per day for their favorite river walk. Voting for the competition goes through April 8 at noon.
This Phase 4 expansion will eventually include an outdoor exercise area, an observation pier large enough for events, and picnic areas, among other things.
Last year, Waterfront Park came in fourth for Best Riverwalk by USA Today's 2023 10Best Readers' Choice Awards. This year, Waterfront Park wants to claim the top spot with the help of community votes.
