Members of the public participated in a special Louisville Metro meeting, giving their feed back on the proposed River City FOP officers and sergeants contract.
The district would include a 130-room hotel, more than 350 housing units, 70,000 square feet of commercial space and a parking garage.
The six-story boutique hotel, called Bunkhouse, is already getting $500,000 in state tax incentives. Now, it could be getting a boost from Louisville too.
Councilman David James is asking the mayor to give council a seat at the table in an ongoing contract negotiation.
If passed, the plan would give city employees 12 weeks of paid leave after a birth or an adoption event.
Monday, it narrowly passed a Metro Council committee by a vote of 4-3.
Tuesday, some members expressed concerns with the contract, which doesn't include reforms.
