Dr. Madison said an interim principal is expected to be appointed for Floyd Central High during a NAFCS board meeting Monday evening.
The board announced Dr. Travis Madison during a meeting Monday evening. If his contract is approved during a meeting on June 12, it would take effect July 1.
It's still unclear who the next superintendent will be, but a school board member told WDRB News that the district had narrowed down the search to one candidate.
The district is now taking applications through Feb. 1.
The Indiana State Teachers Association (ISTA) called for legislators to allow teachers to negotiate for "health and safety conditions, class sizes and prep periods" with local districts.
School is out for New Albany Floyd County and Greater Clark County Schools in what's been a far from normal year for kids.
Those who oppose the bill say it would take millions of dollars away from already under-funded public schools.
