You'll be seeing more crews out there fixing potholes. Mayor Craig Greenberg said there are 11 teams of five that work across the city.
The city said it repairs roughly 40,000 potholes a year. So far in 2023, 17,000 potholes have already been filled.
 The work was set to wrap up by 3 p.m.
Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer joined Metro Public Works' Roads and Operations Crew Monday morning.
The city recognizes the shortage and is trying to combat that with a push for new applicants.
While the potholes are a headache for drivers, they're a windfall for local tire shops.
Crews with the city of Louisville are making sure there are fewer bumps in the road.
Additionally, Councilman Markus Winkler wants to ask lawmakers to more fairly distribute funding to cities like Louisville.
Louisville Metro Council members say enough is enough -- city roads are falling apart and need to be fixed.
This February alone Public Works patched 4,297 potholes compared to only 2,975 in February of 2013.
