The Jefferson County PVA reassessed property values this year in several neighborhoods across the city.
About 120,000 properties in Jefferson County have been given new values for tax purposes.
Property owners who don't agree with their 2021 property assessment, which determine the amount of money people pay for property taxes, can start an appeals process.
Homeowners can appeal the reassessed values online or by phone.
Things will be done a bit differently this year because of the coronavirus pandemic, so the office will be hosting a series of virtual community meetings for residential and commercial property owners in March and April to answer any questions.
Jefferson County PVA Colleen Younger's office reassessed homes and commercial property in west Louisville, Old Louisville, Shively, Pleasure Ridge Park, Valley Station and other areas of southwest Jefferson County this year.
The roughly 60 employees at the Jefferson County Property Valuation Administrator’s office are being asked to reapply for their jobs as part of the transition to PVA-elect Colleen Younger.
