The River Ridge Commerce Center has surpassed 20 million square feet of developed space, marking a major milestone for Southern Indiana’s economy.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held Tuesday morning for Cristiani Parkway, at State Road 62, in Charlestown.
River Ridge is the largest construction site in Indiana.
River Ridge Development Authority announced $2.9 billion in economic output benefits in southern Indiana in its annual economic report for 2023.
By 2025, the factory is expected to have more than 200 employees.
River Ridge Development Authority Board authorized almost $2 million for new roads and water connections at the commerce center.
The business park is located off Highway 62 in Jeffersonville and Charlestown.
After 10 years as president and CEO of southern Indiana's quasi chamber of commerce, Wendy Dant Chesser said a new opportunity to move the region forward was too good to pass up.
Funding comes from Indiana's Regional Economic Acceleration and Develop Initiative, or READI program.
