The crash happened around 10:00 p.m. Monday night near the Westport Road exit.

The National Weather Service confirmed an EF-1 tornado hit Newburg during the storms, with winds up to 90 miles per hour in the area of Bishop Lane by the Kroger Distribution Center.

Police believe a large truck rear-ended a passenger vehicle just before 3:30 p.m., according to Louisville Police Spokesperson Alicia Smiley. 

The work is part of "The I-Move Kentucky" project.

The 13-year-old killed in a five-vehicle crash on the Gene Snyder Saturday has been identified.
