Police said the crime happened on a Jennings County school bus over the course of several weeks.

He is being held in the Johnson County Jail, and is expected to be transferred to Jackson County to appear in court.

The judge said he will take the request under advisement and issue a later sometime on Wednesday.

Additional charges are possible. 

Anderson was arrested Oct. 31, 2023, exactly 41 years to the date of Smith's killing, and has been held at the Jackson County Jail.

Police say he shot his brother "during an altercation."
