A southern Indiana couple is sharing the story of Zora Powers, a girl who benefited from Toys for Tots and now her and her family are trying to give back.
The donation challenge is scheduled to last 12 hours and is happening through 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 1.
Toys were collected at the start and end of the ride.
Cost to enter the ride is one new toy.
The Toys for Tots coordinator said the organization helped 16,000 children last year. It's also seen an increase in people asking for help.
Donations will still be accepted all week at any of the 22 Louisville firehouses, Paristown Pointe and Mission Barbecue.
Organizers hope to collect more than 6,500 toys in just 12 hours on Dec. 2.
