Multiple sources tell WDRB News Herbert Lee was the man who shot the officer. Lee was previously convicted of crashing a stolen car that killed four teenagers.
"I feel like if somebody was to shoot at the police, they have to do their job, Bruce Sweeney, who witnessed the incident, said.
LMPD hasn't released body camera footage of the shooting yet. Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer said releasing body camera footage is an important next step in building trust.
