High school football heats up with regional football matchups in Kentucky, southern Indiana

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — It is round two in the Kentucky high school playoffs this week and regional time with several southern Indiana schools trying to get a step closer to a state championship game.

There is one area game on Thursday, Nov. 13. Atherton (10-1) meets Jeffersontown (6-5) at Waggener, a 5A game starting at 7 p.m.

The rest of the games are on Friday:

Bullitt East (7-4) at St. Xavier (8-3) at 7 p.m.

Manual (9-2) at Male (7-4) at 7 p.m.

Simon Kenton (6-5) at Trinity (9-2) at 7:30 p.m.

Ballard (5-6) at Ryle (8-3) at 7:30 p.m.

Butler (5-6) at Fairdale (7-4) at 7 p.m.

Collins (8-3) vs Woodford Co. (10-1) at 7:30 p.m.

Spencer Co. (8-3) at North Oldham (9-2) at 7 p.m.

DeSales (6-5) at Christian Academy (11-0) at 7:30 p.m.

Central (5-6) at Lexington Catholic (9-2) at 7 p.m.

Holy Cross (5-6) at Kentucky Country Day (9-1) at 7:30 p.m.

In southern Indiana, three area teams are bidding for regional titles with Providence going for back-to-back regional titles and defending state champions.

Floyd Central (10-1) at Bloomington South (10-1) at 7 p.m.

Brownstown Central (12-0) at Linton-Stockton (9-3) at 7 p.m.

Milan (6-4) at Providence (9-2) at 7 p.m.
