Male's Max Gainey wins First Down Friday's Play of the Week

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Male's Max Gainey put on an impressive show on his way to winning First Down Friday's Play of the Week for Week 10.

The star wide receiver started it as soon as he could, reversing field and running away from the Bullitt East Chargers for a touchdown on the opening kickoff.

That was just the beginning of a huge night for the Bulldog standout. Gainey added two more touchdowns in the first half, both of which could have been Best Play nominees. He reversed field again on a screen to find the end zone and then jumped high over a defender for his third touchdown.

Gainey's performance helped lift Male to a dominant 42-6 win over Bullitt East in a rematch of last season's 6A state championship game. The Bulldogs finish the regular season this week against rival Manual in another edition of The Old Rivalry.
