LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Ville is adding more local firepower for its 2025 TBT run.
Former University of Louisville forward Ray Spalding joined the team's roster for this summer's edition of The Basketball Tournament, the $1 million, winner-take-all event featuring 64 teams in a single-elimination format.
Spalding, a Louisville native and Trinity High School product, averaged 12.3 points, 8.6 rebounds and 1.7 blocks per game as a junior for the Cardinals in 2017-18 before declaring for the NBA Draft.
He was selected by the Philadelphia 76ers and played for several NBA teams, including the Mavericks, Suns and Rockets, along with extended G League stints. Most recently, he has played professionally for Osos de Manatí in Puerto Rico.

He joins a roster that includes former U of L stars Russ Smith, Montrezl Harrell, Peyton Siva (player-coach), David Johnson and Louisville natives Jay Scrubb and David Sloan. Luke Hancock will coach the team, with Siva and former U of L assistant Mark Lieberman on staff.
Louisville's Freedom Hall will host The Ville's regional once again from July 19-23 — and for the first time, regional hosts have the opportunity to keep home-court advantage all the way through the championship.
TBT games feature the unique "Elam Ending," where a target score is set late in the fourth quarter, eliminating the need for intentional fouls and ensuring every game ends on a made basket.
