The Providence Dam in New Albany’s Silver Creek

The River Heritage Conservancy and the Indiana Department of Natural Resources are hosting a meeting at 5 p.m. Wednesday at the New Albany-Floyd County Public Library to discuss options with the public. 

In order to do any kind of work in a creek, river or lake, permits are required from the Department of Natural Resources and Army Corp of Engineers.

For about a week, city crews have been placing large rocks and boulders on the downstream side of the dam.
