The devastation in Nashville should remind us to be aware, be prepared and have a plan.

Heavy rain and some scattered thunderstorms were moved through the area overnight, but no tornadoes were reported.

A spokesman for the National Weather Service says now is a good time to create plan and gather supplies for severe weather.
