Accounting firm Ernst and Young began work this week to help Kentucky resolve tens of thousands of backlogged unemployment claims under a contract that some lawmakers criticize for its hefty price tag -- $7.6 million for 26 days of work – and lack of competitive award.
Workers were pulled from those offices in Feb. 2017, based on a lack of federal funding and a low unemployment rate of 4.8 percent.
