Inside the United States Postal Services' regional facility on Gardiner Lane in Louisville, packages and mail — many long past due to their destination — fill bins as workers try to clear a backlog created by staffing shortages and icy routes.
Art Campos, president of the union representing about 800 local postal workers, said recent delays were not unique to Louisville.
Rep. Morgan McGarvey sent a letter Jan. 24 to U.S. Postmaster General Louis DeJoy, who told him the problems were weather-related.
