LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Local celebrities are putting on their dancing shoes for a good cause.
WDRB's Keith Kaiser learns some dance moves before "Dancing with our Southern Indiana Stars."
This year’s event will again feature local celebrities paired with professional dancers, performing to raise critical funds for Hosparus Health Southern Indiana.
The event will feature two dance categories: individuals and pairs. Each category will have its own winner.
No matter the dancing skills, it's the fundraising that really matters.
Over the years, "Dancing with our Southern Indiana Stars" has raised $3.4 million for local patients and families through community support of Hosparus Health.
The nonprofit organization offers compassionate hospice and palliative care services, along with grief counseling, to patients and their families across many counties.
Last year, they assisted over 650 local families during their times of need.
This year, they are celebrating 47 years of helping those facing serious illness.
