LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- It's a Halloween bash dedicated to fighting against Huntington's Disease.
WDRB's Keith Kaiser learned about the annual charity event at Mercury Ballroom.
It's an excuse to dress up and help out a great cause.
The Kentucky Chapter of the Huntington's Disease Society of America presents Halloween for Huntington's Disease.
The 7th annual Halloween Bash happens at Mercury Ballroom on Saturday, Oct. 28 from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m.
The Juice Box Heroes start at 9 p.m. with the Halloween video collage experience.
Dress up for the costume contest for a chance to win up to $1,500 in prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place (judging starts at 11 p.m.).
CirqueLouis brings its unusual acts and theatrics with performances, fire dancing, belly dancing and much more.
There will be $7 themed drinks with little or no waiting in line with 11 bartenders and bars on both patios. There will also be 500 free White Castle cheeseburgers for everyone at 11 p.m.
You must be 21 or older to attend. Online tickets are $40, and VIP tickets are $75. All profits go to the Huntington's Disease Society.
Proceeds from the Halloween Bash support the mission and programs of the Huntington's Disease Society of America, the largest voluntary health agency dedicated to finding a cure and providing assistance to those individuals living daily with Huntington's Disease.
Huntington’s Disease is a rare neuro-degenerative brain disorder that slowly diminishes the affected individual’s ability to walk, think, talk and reason.
Symptoms usually appear in an individual between 30 and 50 years of age and progress over a 10 to 25 year period.
More than 30,000 people in the United States are currently diagnosed with Huntington's Disease and more than 250,000 people are at risk.
