LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The show-stopping Homearama 2015 homes are on display from Saturday, July 11 through Sunday, July 26, 2015.  Prices range from $750,000 to $1.1 Million and will feature the latest in new home design, interior design trends and smart home technology. The beautiful lots in the Spring Farm Lake Homearama section back up to either a two-acre lake or a deed-restricted 12-acre open.

All eleven homes are built by Builder Members of the Building Industry Association of Greater Louisville, formerly the Home Builders Association of Louisville, and are filled with today's most sought-after amenities.

Building and Design Trends

As you tour each uniquely designed home, you will have the chance to speak with many local business representatives. There are more than 400 businesses that participate, representing products and services used in the Homearama homes. Whether you're interested in learning about home design features, appliances, technology, furniture, paint colors, or other home products, you can talk to local experts while at the show.

Homearama is a terrific place to become inspired to redesign and redecorate your home. One of the top reasons people visit the annual event is to see how professional designers pull together a variety of styles and influences to create beautifully designed homes.

WDRB in the Morning regular guest Lisa Bizzell was one of the designers from Tassels Inc. involved in styling House 4 at Homearama.  She tells us greys are still very popular as neutral tones for walls.  Home 4 also uses a bright chartreuse throughout the main living room.  Bizzell says you can make a more vivid color work by repeating it multiple times throughout each room in the main living area.  Keep the palette consistent in florals, artwork, curtains, and upholstered furniture.

Bizzell also shared a few more design tricks anyone can pull off with items already in your home.  Bizzell says bookcases give you an opportunity to make a room more interesting.  Vary the heights of the shelves, so you're not looking at a grid on the wall.  Use larger shelves to display large artwork or vases.  Smaller shelves can hold books and small picture frames.

Bizzell says bedrooms are the perfect place to let your personality shine.  Use those spaces to showcase collections or special interests.  Don't be afraid to use color, and don't feel the color needs to coordinate with the main theme of the home.  She says private spaces should be personal.  Bizzell says it's good to start with one item or fabric of special interest and use it to inspire your color choices.
