Bernheim executive director Mark Wourms acknowledged that the move is a “drastic step” but necessary to help protect its staff and visitors to the Bullitt County nature area.
It says if anyone is caught on their property, he or she can be cited for criminal trespassing and possibly other charges.
The forest will open to members on July 6 and to all visitors “later in July,” though an exact date has not been announced.
