LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Churchill Downs will honor long-time Vice President of Communications John Asher with a statue in the paddock.
The news was announced at 2 p.m. Saturday during racing as Asher's family took part in a tribute in the Winners Circle.Â
Asher worked at Churchill Downs for nearly two decades and was an ambassador for the track and the horse racing industry.

He died in August after suffering a heart attack. He was 62 years old.
