LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- In what has become an annual tradition, Congressman John Yarmuth spent Monday morning delivering hundreds of Valentine's Day cards to veterans at the Robley Rex VA Medical Center in Louisville.
It's a tradition that dates back 12 years, when Yarmuth was first elected. Students from local elementary schools hand-make the Valentines and Yarmuth delivers them to veterans.
"The kids get to learn about respect for veterans, and what veterans contribute to our country," Yarmuth said. "And the vets love it. They get a big thrill out of it. It's another way the community can say thank you for your service."
This year Yarmuth was joined by Majority Whip James Clyburn of South Carolina, the number two Democrat in the House.
