LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- An eviction warrant turned into an animal rescue when Deputy AJ Rees discovered five kittens in a Radcliff home.
According to a post on the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office
, the deputy was serving the warrant on Aug. 7.He heard soft cries coming from what seemed to be a vacant house. After searching the property, he found several kittens trapped beneath a bathtub.
With help from the crew at Parkside Manor, the tub was removed and five kittens were rescued. Hardin County Animal Control took them to safety.
Later that day, Deputy Rees stopped by Lucy & Oscar’s Cat Café in Elizabethtown, where he learned the kittens were being fostered. Two months later, four of the litter — Sherman, Steven, Stewart and Sam — are healthy, playful, while one has already found a forever home.
Visits to the cat café can be scheduled online at lucyandoscarscatcafe.com.
