LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Thanksgiving is less than a week away and 100 families now have everything they need to whip up a great meal.
Meyzeek Middle School's Youth Services Center passed out 100 turkeys and Thanksgiving boxes for those who live in the Smoketown neighborhood.
The school's basketball team joined in along with the Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity and Office for Safe and Healthy Neighborhoods all helped make the giveaway happen.
"It's just making sure that everyone is able to have something to eat on the holiday, something to celebrate," Richard Wilson, Meyzeek Middle School resource coordinator, said. "Something to be happy for, something to be thankful for."
Along with the Thanksgiving dinners, the boxes also contained clothes for winter.
