LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The lineup has been announced for this year's Louisville Pride Festival in the Highlands.
This year's headliner is Grammy-nominated artist Durand Bernarr, the Louisville Pride Foundation announced Wednesday.
The 10th annual festival is happening Saturday, Sept. 6 on Bardstown Road.
It features two stages of entertainment, more than 100 affirming vendors, family and wellness activities, food and drinks, and speakers in celebration of Louisville's LGBTQ+ community. Organizers are promising a "very special guest" attendees won't want to miss.
"We're so proud to bring together artists, performers, and community leaders who show just how powerful and joyful our stories can be," Ebony Cross, executive director of the Louisville Pride Foundation, said in a news release.
The theme of this year's festival is "Decades: Resistance and Hope Through the Years." Organizers said the theme pays tribute to the struggles and triumphs that have shaped the LGBTQ+ experience, and that a "very recognizable face" may be joining the featured speakers and awards ceremony program.
Other performers include Voices of Kentuckiana, Robbie Bartlett, The Get Down and Mary Mary. Derby City, Ensemble, Histrionics, and a community theatre performance are also on the schedule, as well as a high-energy drag show in the evening before Bernarr's performance.
The event is free and open to everyone.
