LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Mid-Southern Hoedown is bringing music, culture and community pride to Kentuckiana.
Bourbon, Blues and Boots will be held Sept. 27 at the Shelby County Fairgrounds. The hoedown a full-day festival celebrating Southern soul, cowboy and Kentucky culture.
The event is family and kid-friendly, with bourbon tasting and line dancing. Families can also book a 45-minute trail ride experience in advance, with horses on-site throughout the day. There will also be horse and carriage rides, and rodeo-style entertainment.
The event is partnering with the nonprofit Community Connections Group that will receive a portion of the proceeds to support its programs.
"We wanted to really understand how important it is for us to have safe spaces to enter into, so this was a great partnership for us, and we are very very excited about it," said James Linton with the Community Connections Group.
The hoedown will showcase a mix of national, regional, and local talent, including Cupid, Myia B. S.D.O.T., Brei Carter, Elektro Horse and Yella P.
Gates open at 10 a.m.
