LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Two animals recovering at the Kentucky Humane Society (KHS) have formed quite the "pawsitive" bond.

Quill, a three-month-old puppy, and Fritter, a two-month-old kitten, were both brought into KHS in early November, just a few days apart from each other.

Quill was involved in an altercation with another dog and could not close his jaw properly. It was clear that he was in terrible pain and needed help.

After several tests and x-rays, the veterinary team was able to perform surgery to realign his jaw and remove part of the bone where he was able to close his mouth and eat on his own again.

When Fritter arrived to KHS, he was suffering from a shocking eye injury. It was protruding from the socket, and the vet team was able to remove it to avoid infection.

The pair began to recover together under the same care, and it was quickly noticed that they were a match made in heaven. Fritter curled up next to Quill like they had known each other before.

The two even try to share their food, it was obvious they could not be separated.

The KHS team sent them to a foster home together, where they will continue to recover with each other.
