LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Record crowds are expected at the Kentuckiana Pride Festival on the Big Four lawn this Saturday.

Festival organizers said Tuesday that all 25,000 tickets have been sold for the first time in its 24-year history. Icona Pop and Chappell Roan are headlining this year's festival.

"This will be my daughter's first concert," Kelsey Wasson said. "It's going to be cool to share that experience."

At two years old, Juliet Wasson is one of Chappell Roan's youngest fans. Her mother, Kelsey, introduced her to the singer's music two weeks ago.

Chappell Roan has skyrocketed in popularity this year. She was an opening act for Oliva Rodrigo's GUTS tour. She's also performing at Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival this Sunday.

Wasson said seeing Chappell Roan headline the Kentuckiana Pride Festival will be a memory they will cherish for a lifetime.

"It really is an incredible opportunity," Wasson said. "I don't know that we'll have it again."

The two put together a pink cowgirl outfit for the festival. It's similar to what Chappell Roan wears for some of her shows.

Roughly 25,000 people will attend the sold-out festival to see locally and nationally recognized artists.

The festival announced the complete lineup in March on Facebook, with acts that include Robin S, Masflowband, Friday Night Special, Bungalow Betty, Vibe.like.Ty, and VOICES of Kentuckiana.

Plus, DJ Dan Slater, DJ Griffin Green, and DJ DNasti.

Many fans will drive across state lines, and some are flying from Europe.

"We have people come from as far away as London, England," Steven Armstrong, with the Kentuckiana Pride Festival, said. "We've got people from Florida, New York, the West Coast."

Between the parade and the festival, officials expect about 40,000 people to join the celebrations in downtown Louisville. Their safety is top of mind.

Organizers are working with Louisville Metro Police, Metro Government, and a private security company.

They also plan to protect people from heat-related illnesses.

"Louisville water has donated several water stations," Armstrong said. "There are several spots with shade."

The Pride Parade remains open and free to the public. This year's parade starts at noon in the NuLu neighborhood and ends at the Big Four Lawn. A limited number of volunteer positions are still open, and all volunteers get access to the festival.
