LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — TARC is once again offering free passes for children this summer.
The TARC Summer Youth Pass is free for those 6 to 19 years of age, and covers the cost of fare for all routes June 1 to August 31.
A Summer Pass will be good for adults with a MyTARC fare card through the same time period, but must be purchased at the same time as a Summer Youth Pass.
Summer passes are available to load to your MyTARC fare card, but must be obtained from a TARC location, either at Union Station, 1000 West Broadway or at the Nia Center, 2901 West Broadway.
If you don't have a reloadable MyTARC card, you can purchase one at either TARC location for a one-time cost of $5, and your photo will be taken for the card.
TARC is also giving a limited number of passes for rides to Cultural Pass holders. The summer Cultural Pass gives youth free access to about 40 art and cultural places in Kentuckiana.
This year's free TARC passes are thanks to the Louisville Metro Government.
