LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Kentucky Blood Center is asking for the public's help saving lives.

That's the goal behind the WDRB Give Blood Drive happening Wednesday and Thursday at the KBC locations in Hillview and Middletown.

Perks of donating include a coupon for a free pint of Blue Bell ice cream, a certificate from Jeff's Donuts for a dozen free donuts, and a coupon for a free appetizer at Texas Roadhouse.

Donors will also get a free t-shirt and a chance to enter to win free Texas Roadhouse for a year. All freebies are available while supplies last.

KBC said donations take a hit over the summer and is typically "a difficult time of the year" for its blood supply.
