Prosecutor Jim Lesousky used much of his opening statement to concentrate on the alleged roles Brooks Houck's mother, Rosemary Houck, and brother Nick Houck played in conspiring to help kill Rogers in 2015, despite the fact that neither have been charged.Â
The defense argues that Joseph Lawson should have been given a directed verdict (or acquittal) by the judge after the prosecution finished its case.Â
