LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Derby season begins in style March 28 as the 68th annual Fillies Derby Ball® brings tradition, suspense and celebration to the Omni Louisville Hotel.
The night’s highlight comes when the 2026 Kentucky Derby Festival Queen is chosen in the signature "spin of the wheel" moment — one of Louisville’s most anticipated Derby traditions.
Themed "A Royal Masquerade," the event transforms the ballroom into a Venetian-style celebration filled with music, dining and dancing late into the night.
The Royal Court — made up of standout college students from across the region — will also be revealed, marking their official role as Derby Festival ambassadors.
Organizers say the Ball sets the tone for the entire Derby season, blending pageantry, mystery and community pride in one of Louisville’s signature events.
