Indiana Gov. Eric Holcomb confirmed the state's first case of the novel coronavirus on Friday, March 6, 2020. He declared a public health emergency.

Indiana Gov. Eric Holcomb said Friday the state has confirmed a case of the novel coronavirus, COVID-19, and declared a public health emergency.
“While some actions are drastic, now, not later, is the time to act,” Holcomb said in a news release.
The Indiana Family and Social Services Administration released a list of options available to parents in need of child care during the novel coronavirus outbreak.
